News > Want a Loft in the Best Part of Tempe? Pick The Lofts at Orchidhouse

Tempe’s Lofts at Orchidhouse, situated within Mill Avenue’s Brickyard, come in all shapes and sizes. In fact, they boldly defy the popular notion that all lofts are cavernous, industrial spaces. Eighty-three private residences, located on levels three through seven, are comprised of a variety of floorplans. They range in size from a studio loft with 774 square feet to a penthouse loft with over 3,000 square feet. Whatever size you pick, we think you'll agree that Orchidhouse has not only the True Loft look but also the best location, in trendy downtown Tempe.

The Look

Even though the Lofts at Orchidhouse were built in 2002-2003, many have the true loft look.  Ceiling heights in these units are the real deal, soaring from 11 feet to 16 feet. You'll also find exposed brick, industrial concrete countertops, large, operable windows, and the exposed pipe and ductwork that makes a loft in most people's minds.

There are also floorplans available that mimic the open concept of the original lofts. The studio lofts with one bathroom offer about 774 square feet and are primarily a large, open space with a bathroom and defined kitchen “area.” Some of these units even have built-in Murphy Beds to save space. Many of the units offer partition walls, some in glass, to create separate living areas while still retaining the flavor of the open concept loft.

Some units at Orchidhouse feature high-end finishes, appliances, and floorplans more commonly found in luxury homes, not industrial-style hard lofts.

There is every size imaginable starting with the studio loft and working up to units with two and three bedrooms. Custom touches may include walk-in closets, built-in bookshelves, and computer stations.

Elevator end units offer private elevators that open directly into your loft. Terrace homes (only three were built) extend your living space outdoors by up to 1,000 square feet. Each 7th floor penthouse is between 2,885 to over 3,000 square feet and includes up to three patios or four verandas – each!

The Location

Most importantly, Orchidhouse Lofts are a stroll away from both ASU and Mill Avenue shops and restaurants. The ASU school of Engineering is in the same Brickyard development.  It has the best central location of just about all of the Tempe Loft developments, with the exception of the more contemporary styled Farmer Avenue Lofts that is a block from Mill Ave on the west side.

Orchidhouse lofts are all different, so contact us to keep any eye out for one that fits your needs.
